Born in Halifax and raised in Ottawa, Mark Poirier studied film production at both Concordia and Simon Fraser universities. He is one of Canada’s most accomplished and well-rounded DoPs, with more than 20 years experience. On features, documentaries and in broadcast television, Mark has worked in virtually every film and digital format. With the recent premiere of Wonders Of The Arctic IMAX 3D in 2014 and the up coming Cities of the Future,Mark is recognized as a serious IMAX cinematographer. Although he travels the world as a DoP, Mark, his partner and their four children call Ottawa, Canada home.
